Laura, this is truly an impressive and necessary thing you do, and I couldn't be more thrilled! It is so important. It worries me that kids do not know who the Beatles are. We have a responsibility to educate our children (in your case, including your class) about the wonderful things that we've experienced. I played records for my son for years. The first thing he ever heard as a baby was Strawberry Fields Forever. A fave muso of mine, Jason Falkner, released an album called Bedtime With The Beatles, which is, as you would guess, instrumental lullaby versions. My son is 18 now, has a broad sensible palate, plays several instruments, and has been to multiple shows (check my story All You Have To Do Is Ask). I'm STILL teaching him about music. I have 2000 titles on vinyl and CD... Music is life.

You'll next be teaching the kids about the Fibonacci sequence, the golden ratio, Wagner and Tool!!

Have you thought of opening up a drop-in type of thing if kids want to know/hear more??
